Great conversation and sorry I missed it. I think first and foremost PR pros are strategists helping companies and organizations figure out how to use a range of communications tools and media to grow their business, thought leadership and reach among the right audiences for them. All too often we get stuck in the means not the final goal.

Kellye, I'm sorry I missed that discussion. I think that our entire culture has been impacted by the DIY/free mentality. Specialized services have been greatly devalued as people fail to realize that the easy access to tools does not mean that you will know what to do with them. Writing a press release is not the same as having a comprehensive and focused media strategy.
